Duoplank herringbone floor in a villa in Noordwijkerhout

This client wanted a herringbone floor with authentic character. To achieve this, we gave the herringbone floor various treatments, such as; planing, smoking and aging. Planing makes the structure of the oak quite visible; the boards feel rough. Smoking makes each plank look slightly different, creating a beautiful combination of light and dark planks. Aging causes the floor to have bumps and dents.
