Exclusive Japanese Water Garden
This relaxing green water garden combines the contemporary style of the west with a refined Japanese touch. Our modern translation of the Japanese garden.
According to Japanese garden philosophy, a water stream is the source of life, and the pond is life itself. Rocks are the obstacles in life that we encounter. By crossing the bridge you leave the known world behind and step into the green world, with the tea house as a refuge to meditate. Meandering paths invite you to discover the garden and enjoy the views. Everything contributes to a mindful experience.
The materials used are inspired by wabi sabi principles. They are about imperfection and aging beautifully. A garden that only gets more beautiful over the years. Moss can grow on shaded paths, as can the soft, porous clay pans on the roof. A collaboration with artist Xander Spronken resulted in the special bridge made of 2cm thick raw steel whose surface continues to corrode and change. The posts come from a harbor and are more than 100 years old.
This garden is a wonderful example of a fruitful collaboration. Thanks to close consultation between customer, garden, lighting, architectural architect and a perfect execution by gardener and contractor, this special garden has been created.
