Family House Utrecht
The authentic appearance of this nineteenth-century mansion in a leafy part of Utrecht still stood proud, but the interior begged to be radically rejuvenated. With respect for the original structure, the home has been transformed into a family home. Relocating some of the doors and an extension at the rear bring the functions on the first floor into full focus. The second floor, with a study, a wardrobe and a generous bedroom and bathroom, is the parents’ domain. The second floor is reserved for the children, with two bedrooms, a playroom and bathroom. Remy’s color palette was implemented to its fullest extent in this home, with the materials used adding excitement. The terrazzo that appears in several places is a central theme, with a nod to the property’s history.
