Farmhouse VH – DR

The assignment was to fully furnish a renovated farm complex. Not on the basis of a classic interior, but via a mix of classic elements in a contemporary form. The difference in vision between the builder, who had a rather minimalist attitude and the client, who was mainly a fan of a more classic interior, ensured that this assignment became a balancing act. Nevertheless, we have managed to combine both styles. This was achieved by mainly finishing sleek shapes in a more classic material.

Cupboard doors in oak with milled vertical lines were finished in black, tablets were finished in hammered natural stone, brick walls were left exposed but painted in a warm white tone, etc.

The entrance area was provided with a staircase in solid oak, but with a sleek design. The floor was finished in platens so that the floor material continues from the outside to the inside. Existing elements such as a beamed ceiling were also painted to create a fresh, timeless atmosphere. For the lighting, it was decided to combine sleek fixtures with rural wall fixtures.
