High-end patio villa with rich use of materials
“A completely single-story patio home in a wooded setting, where the connection to the outdoors is felt in every room. These were the expressed wishes of the clients and the great challenge for BNLA architects, which was taken up with both hands. A fine design process was followed by the prosperous realization of the bungalow. The result is a luxurious villa, very spacious in design, in which all functions flow very gradually into each other.
The specific desire for a patio was literally and figuratively central to the process. The enclosed outdoor space forms the heart of the villa, and around it they fold all residential functions. This has created surprising sight lines and endless natural light invades the home. The use of glass facades around the patio and in the rest of the bungalow created the possibility of a strong connection to the outside from every room. Smart design solutions, such as the wooden ceiling that extends from inside to outside, further emphasize the connection to the outside.
The materials used are high quality and luxurious. The careful composition of materials has created a pure and subtle pallet that takes the appearance of the home to the next level. The brickwork accentuates the horizontal lines of the villa and is interrupted locally by floor-to-ceiling aluminum window frames. The extra-high doors provide a generous entrance and, again, the detailing is refined and luxurious. The entire villa is executed all around with a copper canopy which creates a rich character.
