Italian chic penthouse renovation

Herringbone flooring sets the tone as soon as the living areas open up. The pattern runs through the penthouse like a quiet guide, leading the eye from the lounge to the dining table and toward the semi-open kitchen. Light walls, glazed openings with gold-toned frames, and a pale palette keep the rooms from feeling heavy, while the original ceiling height and crown mouldings remain in place above the new layout.

A floor plan that now reads clearly

The renovation began with a complete strip-out, followed by a new arrangement that gives the apartment a more legible rhythm. A central hall now connects the bedrooms and bathrooms, while the living space stretches out to include seating and dining areas beside the semi-open kitchen. The result is easy to follow from one room to the next. Transitions are marked by framed openings, built-in storage, and changes in material rather than by abrupt walls.

That shift matters in a penthouse renovation, where the plan has to work hard without losing the feel of the original shell. Here, the tall ceilings still do their part. Crown mouldings trace the upper edge of the rooms, and the newer elements sit below them with a restrained profile. The apartment has been rebuilt with new materials and new technical systems, but the architecture overhead still carries the old proportions.

Herringbone flooring as the visual thread

The herringbone parquet is one of the most readable elements in the interior. Its angled lines soften the larger rooms and give the living zone a steady movement underfoot. In the lounge, it sits beside a marble coffee table and a low upholstered sofa, so the floor never disappears into the background. It keeps reappearing in the photos as a surface that connects the different rooms without demanding attention.

Because the flooring is visible in the main living areas, it becomes part of the way the penthouse is experienced. The pattern works especially well against the straight edges of the built-in shelving and the crisp wall panels in the bedrooms. In a project shaped by clean lines and light finishes, herringbone flooring adds a slower visual pace. It gives the rooms depth without introducing clutter.

Marble, stone, and the smaller reflective details

Marble appears in several places, sometimes as a tabletop, sometimes as part of a kitchen or service surface. The material brings a harder note into rooms that are otherwise kept light and calm. On the kitchen side, pale cabinet fronts sit beside a stone-like worktop and a blue-green mosaic backsplash, which breaks up the smooth surfaces with a tighter, more textured field. The effect is precise rather than ornamental.

Gold accents are repeated throughout the apartment, but they never take over the room. They show up in hardware, door pulls, taps, and lamp details, catching light at the points where materials meet. That small line of metal is enough to give the interior its Italian chic interior character. The palette stays controlled: cream, white, stone, wood, and gold, with only the mosaic wall adding a sharper color note.

A semi-open kitchen beside the dining area

The semi-open kitchen sits close to the dining zone, with sightlines that remain open but still defined. A gold-framed glazed opening marks the transition, so the kitchen feels connected to the rest of the living space without being fully exposed. The table is placed within easy reach of the cooking area, and the hanging lights above it reinforce the room’s central role. From this angle, the apartment reads as one sequence of linked spaces rather than a set of separate boxes.

In the kitchen itself, the light cabinetry and stone surfaces keep the volume visually quiet. A niche wall with open shelving adds storage without blocking the room, and the blue-green mosaic backsplash gives the back wall a more tactile surface. Those details matter because they break up the flat planes of the room. The semi-open kitchen is not designed to dominate the apartment; it sits inside the plan as one part of a larger living arrangement.

Gold hardware that catches the light

Several close-up images show how the project uses gold accents interior styling at a smaller scale. A handle, a frame, a tap, and a shower fitting each pick up light differently. Some are polished, some matte, and each sits against a pale background that makes the metal read clearly. These details are not decorative afterthoughts. They are the points where the renovation’s material palette becomes visible in everyday use.

The same approach appears in the living room and kitchen, where pendant lights and door frames echo the same finish. The repetition is subtle enough to feel steady rather than forced. In a penthouse renovation like this, those small metallic cues help tie together rooms with different functions. They give the apartment a consistent line without flattening the contrasts between wood, marble, glass, and textile.

Bedrooms and bathrooms arranged around the central hall

The central hall does more than connect rooms. It gives the bedrooms and bathrooms a clear point of arrival. In the bedroom images, built-in wall storage runs in panels across the wall, and open niches keep books and objects visible instead of hidden away. Large windows and curtains shape the light at the edge of the room, while the bed and soft textiles stay low and restrained beneath the taller envelope.

Bathrooms continue the same material language, but with a more compact rhythm. The walk-in shower uses glass and mosaic tile, with gold taps and a matching shower set standing out against the patterned wall. The shower enclosure is clear enough to keep the room open, while the tile surface gives the space a stronger texture. It is a direct reading of the room: one wall, one enclosure, one set of fittings, all kept in view.

Across the apartment, the furniture and accessories were selected with the same controlled attitude. Softer upholstery, round and oval table forms, and the marble-topped surfaces temper the sharper lines of the joinery and frames. Nothing feels overworked. The rooms rely on proportion, material contrast, and a clear plan to hold together. That is what makes the Italian chic interior language convincing here: not excess, but restraint measured against the original height and the new layout.
