Louvre and jalousie panels for privacy and sun shading in this project

Across the openings, the louvre panels do the quiet work of filtering views and pulling the light back. Seen from the outside, they sit against a house of brick, wood, and glass, with a pitched roof and dark tiles drawing a clean line above the openings. The louvre panels for privacy and sun shading appear on both the front and back sides, so the same language of slats returns in different parts of the home. That repetition gives the façade rhythm without closing it off.

Slats that change the room by turning

The most visible feature is movement. The louvres can be tilted, and the panels are 180 degrees turnable, which makes daylight control the central gesture of the project. Rather than blocking the openings completely, the slats let light pass in measured strips. On warmer days, that means sun shading with louvre slats while the interior still keeps as much daylight as possible. The result is not a fixed screen, but a surface that can shift with the moment.

That adjustability also changes how the windows read from the street or garden side. Privacy louvre shutters sit in front of the glazing and soften the view in and out. The panels do not depend on ornament to make their presence felt; the regular spacing of the slats does that work. In the close-up images, the lines are tight and even, so the panel reads almost like a drawn pattern before it reads as a functional element.

Front and back sides with the same measured screen

Louvre panels on front and back facades make the project feel considered from more than one angle. The panels are not reserved for the most exposed opening only; they appear across multiple windows and larger glazed areas. That matters in a house with generous glass, because privacy and light control at windows become part of the façade composition rather than an afterthought. The panels sit in front of the openings, sometimes as a stronger surface, sometimes as a lighter one, depending on the view.

Material and line do most of the talking here. Brick gives the house its body, wood accents soften some edges, and glass opens the plan toward the garden and terrace. Against that mix, the louvre slats create a consistent veil. Horizontal louvre slats appear in several views, while other parts show vertical louvre slats. The shift between the two orientations is subtle, but it changes the way light is broken up and how each opening reads in the elevation.

Horizontal lines, vertical turns

Horizontal louvre slats work almost like a shallow shelf of shadow in front of the opening. They mark the window with a clear line and reduce direct glare without shutting the room away from the outside. Vertical louvre slats, by contrast, pull the eye upward and emphasize height in the opening. Both types are part of the same approach: control daylight with louvres, but keep the exterior readable. The project uses that difference in orientation to give each opening its own pace.

The images also show how the panels sit within a wider architectural frame. Darker outlines surround some openings, while lighter roof edges and a pale boeiboord set up a contrast above. At the upper level, the louvre surface meets the roofline without clutter. That clean meeting point is important. It lets the slats stay visible as a separate layer while the pitched roof and its dark tiles remain clearly present behind them.

Glass, wood, and brick around a screen of louvres

Seen together, the materials create a clear sequence: masonry base, wood detail, glass opening, then the louvre layer in front. The house does not rely on one dominant skin. Instead, the openings are treated individually, and the adjustable slats become the part that negotiates between inside and outside. In the exterior views, a large glazed rear section and several smaller openings show the same approach at different scales. That keeps the project from feeling repetitive, even when the same panel type returns.

The garden side adds another layer to the reading. Grass, planting, and a paved terrace sit close to the glass, so the louvres are not only about the street-facing view. They also mediate the way the house meets the outdoor space. You can see the panels in relation to the terrace edge and to the openings above it, which makes the shading function part of the whole exterior walk. The home keeps its connection to the outside, but the openings never stand unprotected.

Detail shots that show the edge and spacing

The close-up photographs make the construction easier to read. You see the regular distance between the slats, the dark framing around the opening, and the way the panel edge sits flush with the surrounding surface. In one view, the panel is read almost entirely through line and shadow. In another, the opening below it makes the slats feel lighter, because daylight is visible behind them. These are modest details, but they explain why the panels work so well as privacy and light control at windows.

Inside, the same idea continues at a smaller scale. One interior image shows horizontal lamellae at a window, with curtains falling to the side and a chair placed nearby. The slats cut the daylight into softer bands, and the room feels shaped by the window treatment rather than dominated by it. That interior shot is useful because it confirms what the exterior already suggests: the panels are not just a screen for the outside. They are part of how the room receives light.

A practical layer that stays visible

What makes this project convincing is that the panels never disappear into the architecture. Their function is plain to read, but the slats also add a measured texture to the openings. You can understand the house at a glance: pitched roof, brick walls, glass sections, wood accents, and a layer of louvres that can be turned to suit the light. The repeated use of louvre panels for privacy and sun shading gives the house a clear exterior logic, while the adjustable slats keep the rooms responsive to changing daylight.

For viewers looking at a solution rather than a statement, that is the strength of the project. The panels are present on both sides of the house, they can be turned through 180 degrees, and they work in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Nothing about the system is hidden, and nothing needs to be exaggerated. The openings stay readable, the glazing stays connected to the garden, and the louvre surface remains the part that decides how open or sheltered each window feels.
