In a characteristic village along the river Vecht, Busscher Serrebouw realized this unique conservatory extension. It was the client’s desire to live more outdoors. To comfortably enjoy the garden, cozy company and cool views. With a large terrace, nice lounge and play equipment for the children, the foundation for comfortable outdoor living had been laid. The combination of sleek conservatory design and luxurious classic furnishings make this conservatory the ultimate place to enjoy the outdoors. A characteristic feature of this conservatory is its flexible glass walls. Folded up, the glass walls provide space. Closed they provide warm living comfort in wind or rain.
The result is worth noting. The greenhouse with an eight-piece folding wall found its way to the Municipality of Apeldoorn. A conservatory with a continuous skylight and an integrated fireplace. The folding wall can be moved left and right in an instant, creating a wicket door in the middle of the conservatory. This system takes up minimal space. This way ensures the spatial effect of the garden. To use the heat from the sun in a comfortable way, solar and heat-resistant triple glass was used in the skylight. This pent roof extends into fixed facades, which are placed directly adjacent to the house.
Lots of glass, lots of daylight
The greenhouse roof in the form of a lectern, is divided into three planes. This one is almost 8 meters wide and equipped with TRIPLE safety insulated glass. Today, Busscher Serrebouw only installs TRIPLE roof glass in thermally broken and insulated aluminum profiles, meaning that an insulator is placed between the aluminum panels. This increases the insulation value, therefore less heat is lost. Busscher Serrebouw’s conservatories therefore meet the requirements of the latest Energy Performance Standard. The installed folding wall is 2.7 meters high and consists of four doors that fold to the left and out and four doors that fold to the right and out (viewed from the inside). HR++ safety insulation glass was installed in this 7.5-meter-wide wall. This is insulating double glazing, consisting of two sheets of glass held apart by a so-called spacer at the edge of the glass.
