In Toom again succeeded in providing to the owners of this townhouse in Haarlem what was agreed upon before the project began. The realization of the beautiful design by Jelle Hekstra of StrandNL architecture and interior design, was completed on schedule by In Toom. Smooth and precise. The result is worth noting. A beautiful and elegant mansion suitable for a family with three boys.

Thomas van Nielen looks back with satisfaction: ‘This assignment was special because Jelle Hekstra’s design assumed a smooth combination of existing traditional aspects of the city villa with modern, contemporary aspects. Above all, it had to be a sturdy house that could take a beating.’

There was also a hard deadline. Completion was scheduled for the beginning of the school year. It did. Quite a bit went into this. For example, In Toom supervised the construction team that started by making improvements to the shell, demolishing a number of outbuildings at the rear and some items such as a fake fireplace in the hall.

After this, the metamorphosis of the first floor began with the addition of a number of functions in a new location and the constructive linking of spaces with a beautiful extension. Among other things, this created a spacious terrace with a grand view of the garden.

Led by In Toom, the construction team continued working on the floors. A master bedroom with luxury bathroom was built. In the attic, after structural modifications, a longer corridor with more rooms was created. Finally, In Toom had improvements made in technology and the villa was further completely finished and furnished.

Thanks to the good supervision of the construction team of subcontractors, In Toom has shown what it has to offer. Moreover, it was a perfect translation of StrandNL’s design. In the vision of this agency, a renovation gains added value when the owner becomes happy with the newly decorated spaces, the light or the play of colors between wall and floor.
