Modern city villa downtown Amsterdam
In a quiet part of Amsterdam’s canal belt, a completely new sustainable urban villa has been realized. The exclusive residence is characterized by its spatial design and clever use of split levels.
The property’s facades are a modern interpretation of a traditional canal house. The use of exclusive materials and interventions, such as a steel girder in the front facade and a zinc roof, creates its own and unique facade appearance. The brownish-red brick and cast-iron railings fit beautifully into the streetscape full of classic buildings. In this way, modern interventions are united with traditional elements. This concept was carried through into the interior of the home. Modern aluminum window frames and the oak joists provide a nice contrast. Thanks to the height difference in the area of the living floor, the living room has a pleasant and secure atmosphere, while the almost 4-meter-high living kitchen at the rear gives the feeling of space and luxury. The tall French doors provide a sunny and warm living experience.
