Modern Country House
A historic village development ribbon and a client with a desire to build a modern home provided an interesting area of tension for this design brief. The front house is characterized by a simple and traditional main form. At the rear, a transverse-roofed extension was installed with a more modern look, thanks to a lot of glass and a dark vertical element in the facade. Attached to the main building is an addition, also with lots of glass. Supplemented even further by a carport and a covered terrace with outdoor fireplace, the whole forms an interesting overall composition with many special perspectives. The color palette of black, white, natural wicker and wood gives this home a modern, chic and also warm look.
Human scale, scale jumps, indentations and differentiation within form and material are the main design factors of this country house. They give the mansion excitement, a human scale and a contemporary character without compromising its classic setting.
