The stringer falls back a bit in the lower quarter, making the bottom three steps protrude nicely en profil. The other parts of the design are painted white and fit perfectly into the interior. We used glass plates to fill in the railings, allowing a lot of light into the hall. The wooden steps are smoked in exactly the same hazelnut color as the wooden floor that is on the second floor.
