New construction modern barn house with thatched roof
A detached modern barn home with nice spacious views of the large lot and surrounding pastures in Oosteind.
The newly built barn house in Oosteind was designed as a long-gabled farmhouse. A long volume with gable roof under which all functions are divided, without additions and extensions.
The barn house has a large covered porch on the west side that is open from floor to ridge.
Through the porch you walk into the spacious living room. The living room in this barn home is also open to the ridge, giving plenty of space and air to the home. The living room has wide aluminum window frames on 3 sides and give beautiful views of the surrounding garden and meadows. The tall trees on the private lot provide natural shading in the summer.
A large custom interior furniture with fireplace creates a visual separation between the living room and luxuriously spacious kitchen diner. On both sides of this furniture you walk and look from living room to kitchen and/or entryway. On top of the furniture on the second floor is a workspace for home office. A truly wonderful place to work because of the beautiful view of the living room and the meadow beyond.
The kitchen with spacious island has a spacious cabinetry on the kitchen side of the interior furniture. While cooking at the kitchen island, you have a beautiful wide view of the garden and pastures beyond.
The façade of the barn house is designed on a tight rhythm of wooden columns with beams. Between the wooden columns are glass facades. Above the wooden beams is the wooden padauk siding. The paduk is applied to the facade untreated. During the first few weeks, the wood is still naturally red, but after several weeks in all weathers, the padauk grays to its natural shade of gray.
