Renovation old mansion
A dilapidated old mansion was thoroughly renovated and renovated by JUMA architects with due respect for the past. The proximity of the water contributes to the serene atmosphere that prevails in the street scene. This feeling is carried inside thanks to the refined and balanced design that JUMA has realized for this special project. Although the house is located in the city, you will immediately relax. The design has been refined and kept sober and exudes a sense of understated luxury through its detailing and use of beautiful materials.
The facade was completely restored by a process of sandblasting and scaling. The wooden windows were renewed according to the original model and fitted with sound-insulating glazing. The entrance door is original and painted in high-gloss black, as is the garage door and dormers. This is in sharp contrast to the light facade.
Entering is pure enjoyment because a focus is placed on the patio behind with a view of the swimming pond. The patio was equipped with a covered terrace with integrated fireplace and sauna. This cozy outdoor space is used intensively all year round. The interior consists of a lot of custom furniture, which results in a calm image.
The subtle color palette has been extended everywhere and brings unity. JUMA architects also selected the loose furniture and often opted for rounded, soft shapes to make the whole inviting and cozy.
The techniques have been completely renewed so that the house has every comfort. A home automation system has been provided and the heating has been concealed where possible by using convectors or underfloor heating. In places where this was not possible, elegant cast iron radiators with brass faucets were placed. These fit perfectly with the old aspect of the mansion.
Finally, there is the beautiful aged parquet with wide planks that gives this project allure. The details make the difference.
