Residence DV Nieuwpoort
The client was asked to view the architect’s plan and design and to adjust it if necessary. The house is a spacious single-family house with a lot of glass where a lot of sunlight enters. Due to the light tones, the sunlight is drawn into the home as far as possible. An important factor for the residents who lived in sunny foreign countries for a long time. The interior could have a minimalist look but with warm accents. This was achieved by using white accents for the walls in combination with natural wood and concrete for the floors. For the sofa in the window of the sitting room and the central wall in the room, a dark stained wood was chosen. The fireplace is centrally located in the sitting area. This was placed on the ground as a nod to the old castle fireplaces. In the living room there is a grand piano, a passion of the daughter. In contrast to these white walls is the dark wall where the access to the desk, space for art and wine refrigerators are integrated. This wall flows seamlessly into the bar / breakfast corner that opens onto the kitchen. In the center of the kitchen is the island in white Corian. The appearance of this material gives a soft touch to the dark whole. The corner of the glass windows in the dining area can be slid open completely so that an indoor-outdoor feeling can always be created. The nice thing is that the house consists of different levels as a result of the dune landscape, creating separate intimate atmospheres. For example, the library is a few steps higher, which gives a nice overview of the viewing angle. You also have to go down a few steps when entering the house. In the bathrooms, a serene atmosphere of natural light was chosen through flat roof domes, white colors and light gray limed walls. With the light gray color of the limed walls, we refer back to the appearance of the concrete floor. The house also houses a stock and photo studio where clothing collections can be photographed.
