The perfect imperfection

With this project, Cools won the award “Best swimming pond builder of the year 2019-202” in the competition organized by the platform www.zwwoningenplus.be

From the house, the lines of this gigantic swimming pond seem to run smoothly between the cows. But actually, a ha-ha system has been cleverly used, whereby a visible fence is hidden in a dry ditch. The animals are therefore completely separated from the swimming pond, while it visually appears as if the garden and the pasture overlap. The stairs and the plage in the swimming pond consist of old blue stone coping stones and give the whole a robust touch. Just like the large slate stepping stones. This swimming pond is the perfect imperfection.
