Warmth and color

A female client from Helmond came to Meijs Wonen for a new sofa. She said she found it difficult to bring atmosphere to her newly built apartment. Whether we wanted to take a look? Denise made an appointment and came up with combinations that the resident thought were quite daring at first.

Chaplins
Denise: “Madam wanted some more warmth. Besides, she wasn’t really sure what to put above her new sofa. The only thing she was really happy about was the dining area where she had Chaplin chairs; design pieces that will always be current. I decided to use them as a starting point for my interior design plan. At least the dark red color already matched her wishes.’

Special wallpaper
The sitting area got a high-pile rug and nice armchairs. Above the sofa, instead of art or picture frames, came a special wallpaper. ‘The colors in the wallpaper pull everything together, they make the interior become a fitting whole. Even the dining room chairs now look much better,’ Denise says. ‘Although we worked with distinct shades, there is much more balance in the house now.’ Was the client satisfied? Denise laughs: ‘Of course everything was negotiated; nevertheless, she had to get used to it. Once that happened and, moreover, she was showered with compliments from her friends, she was super happy.’

Big difference
The team at Meijs Wonen furnishes complete villas from top to toe. Does Denise feel as much satisfaction with a more modest project like this? ‘Every client and every budget is equally important. It’s especially cool when people trust your advice and dare to go along with it. As you see, you can then often make a big difference with a few adjustments.’
