Woodland Garden

This garden is inspired by the American Woodland Garden, or American woodland garden. The client has lived in the States for many years and recognized in our work the naturalness that the nature of the American continent also has.

The design brief was to make the existing garage larger and expand it with a canopy, to look at a suitable spot for a pool and to see if we could incorporate a natural stream.

We transformed the garage together with the canopy into a striking two-unit. The garage is an enclosed object clad in Red Cedar shingles, the canopy is the open-faced version. Two buildings as one identity, reflecting our love of architecture and craftsmanship.

The mowed lawn in the middle of the garden symbolizes the magical clearing in the forest. You can look at the clearing from the house and the structure, but will have to step over the watercourse to get there.

The existing trees and shrubs have been re-landscaped and supplemented here and there with new fine specimens so that a natural connection with the surroundings has been created.

It has become an outdoor space where our love of nature and architecture converge in a special way, and where it is delightfully relaxing for the client.
