Outdoor lighting according to lighting artist Lars Mallant

Outdoor lighting is all lighting that can be used outdoors on and around the house and in the garden. However, not all outdoor lighting is suitable for illuminating gardens with it. Garden lighting is designed to create special effects with it that you cannot achieve with normal lights. In addition to lamps, you need special holders that allow you to place lamps at different heights. Only in this way are you able to combine string light with lighting out tree parts. Many of these holders I had developed myself.

Not every lamp is suitable
I also technically set the highest standards for the lamps I work with. For example, they must be splash and waterproof and energy efficient. In recent years, I have been using only the lamps from a few European manufacturers. Of these, I know that the spare parts are available for many years and also they give a standard two and sometimes even five-year manufacturer’s warranty. In recent years, garden lighting technology has also evolved tremendously. Two examples to illustrate. For starters, garden lighting is increasingly suffering, which places higher demands on the housing and construction of the interior. In the past, lamp and electronics had to be replaced at the same time; today they can be done separately. In addition, Led bulbs today last much longer than they used to. According to our manufacturers 50,000 and some even 100,000 burning hours under ideal conditions. They are also more economical and, as they age, also suffer much less loss of light output. In my next blog, I’m going to talk more about the differences between outdoor lighting and garden lighting.
