Bento Starck Box
Individual sink arrangement and new design statement
– The Bento-Box principle: sophisticated elegance through intelligent separation of wet and dry areas
– Design by Philippe Starck: from sinks to free-standing infinity baths and WCs
– Innovative and high-quality materials such as DuraCeram® and DuraSolid®.
As varied as a Japanese lunchbox: with the new Duravit Bento Starck Box bathroom series, Duravit and designer Philippe Starck are making a special design statement for the highest architectural demands. The inspiration comes from traditional Japanese bento boxes, which are divided into different compartments on the inside by partitions. “The Bento Starck Box collection is the beginning of elegant serenity,” is how Starck describes the series’ sinks and bathtubs. With intelligently divided wet and dry areas, the clean, clearly structured washbasins and bathtubs open up countless individual design possibilities. With the Bento Starck Box, a series from the Duravit Artisan Lines will be presented for the first time at ISH 2023. Among them are striking, iconic design products with an artisanal character, which Duravit develops together with renowned international designers. The design and manufacture of the Artisan Lines require a special degree of know-how, craftsmanship and extreme precision.
Lots of room for order
The generously designed sinks in the Bento Starck Box offer storage space that is as practical as it is spacious and comfortable. This allows all care products and accessories to be placed separately within easy reach. The new series, consisting of washbasins, toilets, and bathtubs offers a new, bright design and is perfectly matched to the bathroom furniture and faucets of theWhite Tulip series by Philippe Starck in various designs and sizes.
The Bento Starck Box single sinks are made of DuraCeram®, the double sinks of DuraSolid®. With this, Duravit impressively demonstrates how unusual design is possible with a wide variety of materials. The DuraCeram® material makes it possible to create sinks with exceptionally thin edges that are absolutely easy to clean and stable. Optimal hygiene is achieved in combination with the highly effective, antibacterial HygieneGlaze ceramic enamel. Baked in the sink, it causes about 90 percent of pathogens to be destroyed after only six hours, and about 99.9 percent after 24 hours. In addition to the toilets, all ceramic sinks in the Bento Starck Box series are available exclusively with HygieneGlaze for the first time. Duravit offers a lifetime warranty on all ceramics.
Lots of choice at sink
In addition to the 650 mm wide washbasin, the Bento Starck Box range includes countertop washbasins in different shapes, all available in white and white satin: round with a diameter of 460 mm, rectangular with a width of 550 mm as a single basin or for two taps in 1140 and 1340 mm widths made of DuraSolid®. Because the faucet on all models is mounted in the inner bowl, there are no unnecessarily wet surfaces.
Bento Starck Box toilets are available to match the design of the ceramics and bathtubs, including a Compact model with only 480 mm clearance and the version with HygieneFlush and 570 mm clearance. There are also matching bidets. The seat with soft and silent automatic closing mechanism can be removed and cleaned quickly and easily thanks to integrated push buttons.
Bathtub with integrated overflow for a spa experience
The free-standing infinity acrylic bathtub in sizes 1800 x 900 mm is ideal for a spa experience at home. With the right depth and enough space for two people, it invites you to immerse yourself in the water. A gently rounded support for the head completes the wellness experience. A sloping water channel prevents residual water. It is also practical for cleaning, as the water or individual droplets remain in the tub even when the faucet is operated. The bath comes fully pre-assembled and with base and overflow, so there is no need to order additional accessories.
