Country Residence
This country house, nestled in nature, would not look out of place on a postcard. It even has its own natural pond with fish, ducks and other wildlife. So it requires an interior that takes full advantage of the views and reflects the openness of the surroundings. Upon entering, however, the designer found low ceilings and enclosed rooms, structures that stood in the way of the house’s potential. This needed to be brought to the client’s attention, especially since the original order was to design only a new kitchen.
Thus began the transformation of the house into what it is today, namely a residential observatory that constantly magnifies the seasonal changes that occur outdoors and in which the liberating feeling of being outdoors can also be experienced indoors. The volume was opened vertically and horizontally. The original beams, which had served their function unseen, were clad in reclaimed wood from old chalets.
