Double farmhouse
At the edge of Best, where the built-up area and the hinterland meet, Spanjers Architect has designed a spacious two-hairdresser. The design is a modern approach to the long gable farm type. At the front, the traditional distribution of living and stable areas has been made clearly recognizable by the carefully chosen facade openings and use of materials. The chosen color palette, white cobblestone with anthracite painted shutters and doors in combination with dark gray tiles gives the house a modern and timeless look.
At the rear, large glass sections have been chosen under a modern, sleek roof. This creates a beautiful relationship with the garden behind and an interesting contrast with the classic layout of the front and side walls. The elongated skylights at the rear provide sufficient daylight on both the floor and the ground floor.
