Expansion of timeless modern villa with tight volume

The main building is a timeless modern villa that needed to be renovated. Before the expansion, the house on the adjacent plot was demolished and a very sleek and modern volume was built. The kitchen in the existing villa was expanded in the new volume, followed by a large dining area that is ideal for family gatherings. The expansion mainly consists of a wellness with a pool house and a master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and access to the fitness.

There is a separate entrance for the wellness. This way visitors can easily change clothes in the cloakroom where storage for towels and swimming equipment is provided. In the wellness area there is a sanarium, an infrared cabin, a large rain shower and a sofa with a foot bath. There is also a relaxation room with a view of the outdoor swimming pool. Following the wellness is the pool house that is equipped with a full kitchen.

All rooms are separated from each other by large sliding doors so that the openness is accentuated. All rooms overlook the swimming pool with inner garden and covered terrace. The expansion is a transparent volume where the large sunken glass sections blend the transition between inside and outside.

The use of materials is uniform: a ceramic tile with a white stone look was chosen as the floor covering. The same tile was also laid on the terrace in an anti-slip version. In this way the relationship inside is emphasized again. The floor pattern has been accurately drawn so that the joints of the tiles are in line with the tiles outside.

The made-to-measure furniture was mainly worked out in brushed oak that was varnished. All tables were executed in a composite with a color and material link to the floor tile.
