TWIN DOORS enriches home of carolien karthaus-track and jon karthaus

Actress carolien karthaus-spoor and her husband – and director – jon karthaus subjected their newly purchased and naturally located home to a very thorough renovation. Interior walls disappeared, the roof was renewed and the floor went out. When the sledge hammer was put away, the couple built step by step to make their personal living dream a reality.

At a very early stage of the rebuild, they visit TWIN DOORS’ inspiring showroom, where they fall like a log for the style and look of the ‘ beaujolie bronze ‘ doors from the quality company’s rich collection designed by top designer remy meijers. “For all subsequent interior design choices, we looked to see if the look and feel matched the look of our doors. They really formed the starting point for the rest of our interior design.”

Overwhelming beauty
“in our previous home we were already extremely happy with a beautiful pivot door and we wanted several in our new interior and preferably in a more special version. We knew the owners of TWIN DOORS annette and marcel through friends of ours and visited their showroom. There we were truly overwhelmed by the many possibilities and the beauty of their collection,” says carolien, who points out that her creative godmother – interior stylist and owner of budhina interiors – played a major role in the creation of the new interior.

Great light
in the beautifully decorated home, the (double) pivot and pivot doors contribute to the rich look of the interior. Also beautiful is the twin design mirror : finished in the same color as the doors and fitted with the- same frame. The custom doors used in the home from the beaujolie bronze series are partially or even completely – like the toilet’s swing door – covered in tundra stone leather from alphenberg leather. In the living room, this creates a wonderful connection with the fireplace, on which the same leather is used. The glass in the custom doors is clear glass. Carolien: “we are really super happy with the end result. The doors look fantastic and play a big role in the look of our interior. When the pivot doors are closed, you are still in connection with each other and they provide beautiful light in the different rooms.”
