Garden with natural swimming pool in Soest

A garden with a natural swimming pool was the ultimate dream for our client in the rural area of ​​Soest. Garden and landscape architect Luc Engelhard took care of the design and we were able to realize the dream of these nature lovers.

By installing a sunken garden area around the house, it became possible to get daylight in the ground floor of the new house, without installing so-called cuckoos. The hardwood walkway of the garden, over the sunken garden area, is the connecting factor between house and garden. The walkway is designed extra wide, so that there is enough space for a table with a few garden chairs. It is a nice place to enjoy the garden.

During the construction of this garden, we worked closely with a company that specializes in the construction of natural swimming pools. We took care of the expansion and ground work and then the complete pool made of concrete with the necessary pool technology was realized by the pool builder. The advantage is that a swimming pool in an organic form fits very nicely in a naturally designed garden.

We then made a unique water element of unevenly stacked Schellevis tiles at the pool. We cut a slot in the top tile with precision, in which a narrow stainless steel gutter is placed. By means of a pond pump, the water is pumped from the natural pool to this gutter and then falls gently down into the natural pool.

In addition to a deck terrace, a second terrace is made of natural stone. Castlestones were used for this. To get a natural result, these stones are processed in stabilized sand, without edging.

During the harvesting of various trees from the garden, a lot of trunk wood was released. We sawed these tree trunks to parts of 50 cm and then piled them up to a natural low garden wall. This allowed us to reuse materials in the garden.

The plants in this garden are lush and thoughtful. Beautiful plant combinations have been devised. As a result, beautiful color effects can be seen all year round.
