Home renovation for a modern villa interior with concrete-look features and an indoor pool

Glass carries the first impression here. It pulls daylight deep into the rooms, softens the line between inside and outside, and puts the concrete-look surfaces in clear view. As a home renovation, the project reads through contrast rather than decoration: slim black frames, a pale wood floor, a fireplace wall with a rougher finish, and open sightlines that keep the plan legible from one zone to the next.

A living room set around glass and concrete

The living room is anchored by a concrete-look fireplace wall with a built-in fire opening. In front of it, brown leather seating sits low against the pale floor, which keeps attention on the vertical surfaces and the view toward the glazed doors. The room does not rely on ornament. It works through proportion, through the way the opening to the adjacent space stays wide, and through the contrast between the soft upholstery and the harder wall finish.

Slender black profiles divide the glass doors and windows without cutting the room apart. Light comes in across the floor and lands on the wall surfaces in clear strips, making the structure of the interior easy to read. That is where the modern villa interior gains its character: not from a single statement piece, but from repeated material oppositions that stay visible as you move through the space.

Kitchen zones shaped by wood fronts and dark worktops

The kitchen is arranged with wood fronts and darker counters, which gives the built-in run a grounded, compact look. Open niches and shelving are set into a white wall section, so the storage reads in layers instead of as one closed block. Above the bar area, pendant lights with multiple cylindrical glass elements hang in a line, adding a clear vertical rhythm over the horizontal counter.

A second kitchen view shows how the same modern kitchen with wood fronts handles light differently near the windows. Horizontal slats filter the brightness, while the dark worktop makes the cooking zone read as one continuous plane. The balance here comes from practical contrasts: wood against white, matte against reflective, closed fronts against open niches. The result is tidy without feeling sealed off from the rest of the house.

Built-in wall zones that keep the room open

A custom wall unit with open compartments and a recessed display area adds a quieter layer to the interior. The open boxes break up the surface, and the integrated lighting gives depth to the niche instead of flattening it. Nearby, a bathroom or powder room continues the same material language with concrete-look walls and a dark basin. The black fixture stands out sharply against the lighter surface, so even a small room keeps the project’s restrained palette.

The indoor pool sits under a glazed opening

The indoor pool is one of the clearest spaces in the house. A rectangular basin is bordered by tile, while the surrounding walls mix brick and stone textures. Above it, a glazed skylight brings in direct daylight and leaves a bright patch over the water. The opening changes the mood of the room throughout the day, but the layout stays simple: water, masonry, glass, and a narrow bench-like edge near the perimeter.

Dark wooden slats sit beside the pool area, marking the transition to the adjacent zone without closing it off. That detail matters, because it keeps the indoor pool skylight from feeling isolated. The room is not treated as a separate showpiece; it is part of the house’s circulation, linked to the rest of the interior by the same controlled use of glass and solid material. In a home renovation, that kind of continuity is what makes the plan easy to follow.

Vertical movement in the stair hall

The stair hall rises through double height, and the black metal balustrade draws a geometric line through the space. The pattern is crisp, almost graphic, but it sits against concrete-look surfaces and glazed openings rather than competing with them. Wall lighting adds a faint vertical glow, which helps the stairwell read as more than a passage. It becomes a pause between floors, with light and railing shaping the empty volume around it.

From this point, the modern villa interior opens again toward the lower level. Glass doors, pale walls, and the darker structural accents keep the eye moving. Nothing feels over-framed. Instead, the house uses slender edges and open voids to let the rooms connect while still keeping each zone distinct. The stair hall makes that logic visible in a single glance.

Outdoor space kept low, open, and usable

The backyard is arranged with lawn, planted borders, and a terrace that sits close to the house. A covered section stretches over part of the seating area, creating shade without turning the garden into a closed extension. Under that cover, a bar or work zone runs along the wall, which gives the terrace a practical edge and makes it easy to read as a place for both sitting and using the space.

Wooden decking appears in the terrace area, while the surrounding planting stays low and neat around the grass. The backyard terrace shade sail/cover changes the profile of the outdoor room, but it does so lightly. Views remain open toward the lawn and borders, and the space keeps the same measured language as the interior: clear lines, plain materials, and no excess detail competing with the architecture.

How the project holds together

Across the house, the strongest thread is the relationship between glass, concrete-look surfaces, and wood. That mix appears in the living room, the kitchen, the stair hall, and the pool area, but each room uses it differently. The fireplace wall is heavy and grounded. The kitchen fronts are warmer and more contained. The pool room depends on daylight from above. Together they give the home renovation a steady rhythm, built from surfaces that do visible work rather than decorative effects.

The project also keeps its exterior-related moments understated. Instead of presenting the garden as a separate scene, it is tied to the interior through the terrace opening and the broad glazing. That makes the transition between inside and outside easy to read. For viewers looking at modern villa interior references, indoor pool projects, kitchen design projects, or garden terrace cover solutions, the value of the project lies in how each part is handled with the same disciplined material logic.
