Living the dream

A futuristic house with one heart and two wings, living in the basement sleeping on the ground floor. Together with Jurrien de Mik, from D&M architecten adviseurs bv, a futuristic house with one heart and two wings emerged at the drawing table, where in the basement is lived and sleep is done on the first floor.
 
The dining room and kitchen are central and have beautiful views over the garden and the valley. The purpose of this space is emphasized by giving the walls depth with heavy wallpaper. Steel doors distinguish the living room from the dining room. Immediately noticeable is the kimono wallpaper. The cheerful pattern turns the space into a playful and warm whole.
 
Wallpaper has played a major role in the house, 80% of the walls are hung and therefore every room feels different. At the back of the sitting room is a closed study where the children can quietly use the computer or do homework. Back upstairs, the corridor runs around the rooms in a U-shape. In the middle is the master bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The view of the garden, the bird wallpaper and the romantic four-poster bed make it fairy-tale.
