MAX8 HQ
The dated detached bungalow from the 1960s was transformed into a fresh modern building consisting of a house and an architect’s office. The decrepit and dated building received a thorough update to the current standard for a new-build project on energy efficiency and appearance. Maximum use was made of glass in the office to be optimally visible and to take maximum advantage of the green surroundings and the alley on which the house is located.
Special features
Steel construction and on-site poured concrete were used to renovate the building.
With typical steel construction techniques such as smooth white sandwich panels, not only the facades of the new construction part were realized, but also the facades of the existing house were insulated and clad. Thus, there is no longer a distinction between old and new. Strong solar control glazing makes the office a pleasant open work and meeting place.
A geothermal heat pump was used for heating and passive cooling and a ventilation system with heat recovery is provided. The building is ready for the future.
