A garden to live in. That was the purpose of this renovation. And it did. Several lovely terraces and plenty of fun for the kids!
Young family: the garden has a modern look
A young family with two children moved into this house in the Brabant countryside. The business is adjacent to one side of the lot. On the other side there is the view over the countryside. The hedges and tight walls have created a clear demarcation that provides intimacy. However, the vista remains ever-present and green in character.
The tightly plastered porch is a nice covered seating area with a gas fireplace. A large picnic bench has been placed under the trees for eating in the shade. A spacious dining terrace is positioned against a white wall near the house. There is a spacious play lawn for the children. Part of this lawn is done in artificial turf, so that in summer a large inflatable pool can be put down.
Modern and low maintenance
The terraces are of large format ceramic tiles. A worry-free tile that does not discolor and does not absorb moisture and dirt. The lawn is mowed by a robot. The flowered borders grow dense quickly, so weeds have no chance!
Good work-life separation
The placement of the porch with the wall with the open gaps, the tall Yew hedge and the group of Plane trees created a thick buffer between work and home. The shed in the background is almost invisible from the garden. So after work, it’s good to relax in your own garden!
