Modern garden in greenery
This garden is on the corner of a new housing estate in Tilburg. But the image of this garden is not what you expect from a newly completed new housing development! This corner house overlooks a beautiful piece of rugged greenery that is part of a green zone in this residential neighborhood. So it is and remains green!
Garden design responds to the environment
The garden design made strong use of this environment. In strategic places a partition has been placed, in other places the partition is low and so you look away beautifully. ‘Borrowed landscape,’ the English call it. Great to borrow all these beautiful trees in the background.
Pool nicely placed
The pool is beautifully embedded in the greenery. Note that the bathtub is barely visible from the interior. (Read more about pool installation in our blog.) The dining table and lounge are on a large terrace raised one step. The terraces are slightly away from the house. This enhances the feeling of being in nature. In addition, from inside you look directly onto beautiful green borders.
Tough materials complete the picture
The materials are firm and robust. Large concrete slabs, gray gravel and rough planks painted tough black. The dining table also appears to be concrete, but is plastic. The planting consists of large groups of the same species. Notable are the strip of Pennisetum (lambrequins) and the three large-leaved Catalpas. The Catalpa’s light leaves stand out nicely against the dark green background.
