Modern garden with pool in the landscape

The interior of the classic residence had already been completely renovated and modernized. Now for the garden, located in the Brabant countryside between Den Bosch and Eindhoven. How do we give them a modern look?

Modern garden with swimming pool
The desire was to fit a large swimming pool into this rural setting. The area against the house and around the pool are considered a “garden-within-a-garden,” so to speak. Large, light ceramic tiles form a connecting path between the house and the pool. Nearly 12 meters long, blue and challenging, the pool awaits daily laps of swimming fun. Splashing and stroking among the greenery and the atmospheric multi-stemmed Catalpa. Paths, terraces and pool edges are made of luxury ceramic tiles. The hardwood decking is a solar podium at the head of the pool.

Modern pool house extends the season
The pool house is a beautiful combination of white walls and fascia boards with attractive red cedar slats. In the closed part of the pool house, the technology of the pool is beautifully concealed. The beating heart of the pool is hidden behind the sliding doors. A toilet and a shower are provided as amenities. The covered terrace can be closed by glass walls. In the ceiling, in addition to dimmable spotlights, there is also a heater for when it cools down too much. The kitchen is fully equipped, even a dishwasher! The gardening season starts early in spring here.

Lush plantings contrast with clean lines
The colorful border by the deck terrace is lushly planted with a variety of perennials and ornamental grasses. In high summer, the flower heads of the Echinacea steal the show here. The spikes of Descampsia and Stipa wave their own rhythm in the summer breeze. The pastel shades come from the Nepeta and Salvia. Further into the garden, multi-stemmed solitary trees of Carpinus and Parrotia form the transition to the surrounding landscape.
