Raw and soothing
A complete renovation transformed this apartment from a number of separate rooms into an open loft with the feel of a luxury hotel suite. The layout was completely opened up: a wall was removed from the living space and the kitchen was integrated into the space. Britt Van Namen realized this design for property developer UPTOWN GROUP and, in addition to the design, provided all the necessary techniques.
Because all of the custom cabinets extend to the 2-meter-high ceilings, the space is maximized. The breakfast cabinet in the kitchen is equipped with all appliances, keeping the work surfaces clear and radiating tranquility.
That calming look is supported throughout by the tone-on-tone color scheme. Combine this with rougher materials like concrete stucco, limestone walls and natural stone and the result exudes character.
“In the master bedroom, the bathtub was incorporated into the suite via a glass wall, allowing daylight to enter there as well, adding to the hotel feel.”
The kitchen was worked with a natural stone from the travertine family, whose open pores give it an interesting structure.
In the bathroom, the walls and floors as well as the shower have Microtopping, a visually beautiful feature and also very easy to maintain. The bathroom cabinets are painted in concrete look. In the master bedroom, the bath was incorporated into the suite via a glass wall, allowing daylight to enter there as well, adding to the hotel feel.
