Sint-Lenaarts Residence
The client contacted us for the extension of their existing home. The kitchen and living space was dated and in need of replacement. The question was also raised as to whether it was possible to expand the building volume to attract more daylight into the home.
Imore | With this question, interior architecture quickly went to work and made a design in which the kitchen would become THE central space in the home. A space that could not only be used for cooking, but also for breakfast, aperitif, relaxation, … Contact with the garden was the most important asset. For that reason, a completely glass facade on the garden side was chosen. The floor in the kitchen also extends into the terrace. This enhances the inside-outside feeling. The connection with the living space was also an important point. There had to be openness and daylight, but the living space had to be closed off from the kitchen. A ceiling-high sliding door was the solution here. The living space is characterized by a large wall with built-in fireplace and television. The fireplace turns into a large long niche with indirect lighting. This gives length to the space and emphasizes the view axis to the garden.
