Stately Villa Garden in Nijmegen city center

The residents had a problem with the driveway located on the far left side of the lot. The front door was difficult to see from the road and the house therefore had little appearance. Residents also missed the security of greenery in front of the house because a number of large trees had been removed by the previous owner. This security was brought back by planting large Rhododendrons and two mature Liquidambar trees. The appearance of the property has been significantly improved by moving the driveway. By positioning it right in front of the front door.

The wrought iron fencing was renovated specifically for this project. All parts were disassembled, sandblasted and the fencing completely rebuilt. The result is sleek fencing that will last for years again.

Characteristic of this garden is the mature-looking planting. Using larger mature trees and shrubs immediately creates an image as if the garden is years old. The garden is only 2 months old when photographed after its completion.

In the front yard, an eye-catcher has been placed in the form of a water bowl. This 2-meter Corten steel bowl ensures that there is always some entertainment by the birds that come to drink there.

In the backyard, two large terraces were chosen. These terraces are made of four pieces of prefabricated concrete tiles measuring as much as 250 x 250 cm. Rightfully to be called megategates. However, the two terraces do not appear dominant because they are separated by old waal format clinkers. The pots from Atelier Square provide ample decoration. Tuuci’s umbrellas provide shade and are large enough that one can simply stay outside during rain.

Very important in a garden is, of course, lighting. On the walls, Royal Botania’s Beamy downlighters were chosen. The trees are lit by Bullets spotlights from Royal Botania. The terrace is complimented by a stunning Floor Lamp Garota P/01 Outdoor by Bover Barcelona.
