Thatched classic home with contemporary details

A beautiful classic house with contemporary details and a warm atmosphere, that’s how this villa can be described. Uniquely located, on the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a large water sports and nature area between Amsterdam and Utrecht. Accessible through the drive-in gate with plastered posts. The villa is built on a vibration-free pile foundation. Foundation on piles is used when the load-bearing soil is very deep. This involved the use of tubular steel piles in this case, which were installed vibration-free using resonance technology.

Thatched Building of the Year 2017
The residential villa is thatched with Chinese thatch by De Rietdekker. This beautiful villa with mansard roof was named thatched Building of the Year 2017 by the Federation of Thatchers. The craftsmanship and beautifully finished details were appreciated.

Natural materials
The natural materials used give the house its charm. Plastered facades with wooden gables, a nice combination of sleek yet warm. Wooden window frames were chosen all around, which are fitted with hard stone window sills. A window sill or water hammer is a facade component that prevents rainwater from running directly onto the facade below. Dirt that comes with the water does not run down the facade as a result.

Garden room with beamed ceiling
The interior is classic and stylish. The oak staircase with steel bars, supplied and installed by Soetendaal Stairs, is clearly a classic style element in the home. The oak steps feature a rustic nose profile, the steel bars are real eye-catchers. Unique are the double steel doors with arches. Through these arched doors in the kitchen you can reach the cozy garden room with beamed ceiling. A garden room is an enclosed space directly attached to the home and an enhancement to the home. An exclusive floor of clinkers was used here. Interior paving is durable and low-maintenance. For added ambiance and warmth, a classic gas fireplace provides. This fireplace is placed back to back with the indoor gas fireplace. A fireplace with classic mantel is positioned in the dining room. That’s enjoying an authentic atmosphere.

Zep solar cell roof tiles
The outbuilding or boat house, with penciled facades, was also realized by HaBé. Beautiful details, such as the copper gutters and oak uprights, make the outbuilding a complete fit for the home. The outbuilding features Zep solar cell roof tiles, a full solar panel integrated into a ceramic roof tile. Zep solar roof tiles are beautiful and effective, barely distinguishable from regular roof tiles, and the power output is comparable to regular solar panels.
