A harmonious blend of tranquility and simplicity: this is how Jaap Sterk Exteriors’ gardens can be described in a nutshell. In the philosophy of the firm, which has been designing and creating gardens for more than 35 years, the outdoor space should always complement the home and surrounding nature. So too with this project. In the process, the existing outdoor space was transformed into a magnificent entity, which enriches the charming villa and green surroundings in a special way.

The beautiful garden features a minimalist look, deepened with subtle contrasts.
To achieve this, Jaap Sterk Exteriors chose to let large gestures speak for themselves in the outdoor space and to recur mostly the same materials and shapes in a strong unity. In the process, the existing levels of the site were expertly connected. For example, Jaap Sterk Exteriors chose an atmospheric gravel path, which is like a thread within the rolling landscape. The combination with varied and lush plantings, including ferns, grasses, feral flowers and large trees, gives the garden a timeless charm with a very mature look.

Amidst all the splendor is a beautiful swimming pond located of sandblasted Belgian bluestone. The stunning object is completed by a work of art by Judith Wiersma. Also special is the terrace with a cozy sitting area, outdoor kitchen and gas fireplace. The terrace owes its appealing appearance to its quiet decor, perfectly complementing the adjacent living kitchen in the home.

The result is a particularly harmonious whole, with the garden enhancing the charming appearance of the villa and its surroundings. Beautiful outdoor lighting makes the garden look attractive even in the evenings.
