The house is located in the beautiful forest in Maaseik. The terrain where the building was to be built was enormously sloping and provided a nice challenge. The challenge was mainly in the terrain, but also to look for a good integration in the green environment. The materials we have used are a reflection of the colors that the forest reveals.

The sloping terrain has ensured that we have designed the terrace in the volume and that it is part of the house. The bedrooms have also been placed downwards so that a maximum view of the surroundings is created from all living areas. The wooden shutters that open and close give a nice flashback to the past (barn effect). The entrance to the garage is at the rear where glimpses can be caught for the builder’s hobby (collection of maseratis). The green roofs enhance the effect of the greenery and we allow some plants to occupy the house for a part.
