The search for the right house began as a joint exploration, led by the future rhythm of the rooms rather than by any single finish. What emerged was a home renovation that keeps the scale of the original house intact while letting the key spaces shift into a more direct, contemporary register. Classical mouldings, tall openings and generous proportions remain visible, but they now sit beside sharper lines, darker accents and custom-built elements that were made to fit the house exactly.

Its pale veining gives the space a quieter tone than a patterned stone would, and the material works well with the panelled walls and profiled trim around it.
