Making detached house more sustainable in the Gooi area
With great attention to detail, this detached house in Het Gooi was completely converted into a beautiful sustainable villa to the design of Jeroen-bart Pijpers of JB design bureau. The house received a completely new layout, with the living spaces on the first floor flowing into each other and facing the backyard through an aluminum folding wall. An aluminum folding wall contains slim profiles and offers plenty of space for glass. The glass facade creates a smooth transition from inside to outside and creates a special living feeling. The individual elements of the glass folding wall can be folded to the side to form a narrow wing package. Thus, the space truly becomes one with the garden.
Varied facade finishes
The house is fully insulated and preserved. The varied façade finish, in which sleek stucco is combined with vertical Western Red Cedar planks forms a pleasant contrast with, among other things, the window frames with rod divisions. Western red cedar is a North American softwood species with high natural durability. The combination of old and new, traditional and modern results in a contemporary home with character.
