Modern house with zinc roof in Veenendaal

In the new nature reserve De Groene Grens in Veenendaal, space has been left for this unique residential area. Special Living, that’s the name of the project. In the middle of nature, build a house that is completely to your liking in terms of architecture, space and appearance. A free lot, a home that fulfills all of your living desires, and a green guarantee that assures stunning green views. An attractive place for living in a rural setting. Here we realized this modern house with zinc roof to the design of Hasselaar Architects. The villa is partly cellar, here is located, among other things, the technology room.

Four porches
Four porches were realized over the entire rear façade, each with its own function, for an optimal experience of the unique location. The veranda is a beautiful connection between inside and outside. The generous skylights provide optimal natural light. A see-through fireplace, also called a tunnel fireplace, was placed between the porches. From both sides, you can enjoy impressive flames.

Cuin ultra insulating glass
The exterior of the house is characterized by the large glass windows and a zinc roof. Daylight flows in abundantly through the textured aluminum facades. The aluminum profiles are slim and accentuate the glass compartments. Inside, there is an optimal experience of sunlight and daylight, spaciousness and sight lines to and from the garden and surrounding landscape. Cuin ultra-insulating glass, the most thermally efficient insulating glass available on the market, was chosen in part in the facades. Triple and solar control glazing was used in the remaining facades.

Modern architecture
The plastered facades are combined with a GeoStylistix facing brick. GeoStylistix offers the chance to design something unique. An extra-long, slim and extremely stylish facing brick. Distinctive in color, size and texture. The atypical dimensions make it possible to create a special horizontal line pattern for the facade. The advantages of concrete, combined with the eye-catching aesthetic features of natural stone. This high dimensional stability makes them ideally suited for thin grouting techniques. This creates a sleek facade appearance that fits modern architecture.

Acoustic ceiling
The modern style is carried through into the interior as well. De Rooy Metaaldesign’s steel pivot doors give the home an open and attractive feel, daylight is distributed throughout the home, with each room benefiting from natural light. The interior doors have concealed hinges and magnetic locks. These are fully integrated into the frames and doors. Due to the open concept and many glass walls, an acoustic solution was a requirement. The seamless acoustic ceiling provides the villa with pleasant acoustics. Moreover, it fits perfectly into the modern environment, sleek and smooth, beautiful and functional. Sound absorption is well controlled and optimal acoustics are achieved.

Clad with zinc
A freestanding, precast concrete Z-staircase leads to the second floor. Low-noise, low-maintenance and solid. To give the stairs a nice color, color pigment was added to the concrete. The second floor was constructed of wood frame and then covered with zinc. Zinc gives an industrial look is a durable material with high quality. In addition to the aesthetic value to the villa, the second floor offers space for additional sleeping accommodations, a second bathroom and a gym.

Home automation system
The entire house is equipped with a home automation system. Home automation provides communication between electrical applications in and around the home. Home automation controls various functions such as heating, ventilation, lighting, alarms and television viewing. This is done flexibly: at any place and time that suits the residents. The great advantage of a home automation system is that, quietly and in the background, it increases living and living comfort. The villa is heated by geothermal heat combined with a heat recovery system (WTW). The house is extra energy-efficient, has a high insulation value and was built without a gas connection.

Plus House
This home was tested by Plus House for airtightness. With a qv10 of 0.198 dm3/m2 * sec. met the set requirement of below 0.25 extremely well. On the roof are 32 PV panels with micro-inverters (Enphase) with a combined peak power of 9760 W peak.
